My family lives locally around the corner from Rouse's and they always serve delicious southern cuisine. Our family has dined here for years. I recently took my mother to have an early lunch during the Sunday buffet on New Year's Eve. She can't stop talking about it. It is a wonderful value for $15.99 a person AYCE. My favorite menu items are the fried chicken, hamburger steak, sweet potatoes, turnip greens, squash, Lima beans, hush puppies & fried fish. The options are plentiful. You should plan to arrive early. It was crowded but the staff kept things replenished in a timely manner with wonderful friendly service. The dining room is very vintage and traditional. I loved the Christmas decor, real wood burning fireplace, and the deer in Santa hats. The restaurant staff provide excellent southern hospitality. I can't wait to come again or plan a family dinner in the event room.

Love the food! We drive over to Snow Hill every 4 or 5 weeks for the Sunday buffet. I can't say enough about the awesome food. The service is great and the restaurant is always very clean looking. My favorite place to eat.

We were here for a Sunday buffet during a softball tournament and it was a packed house. The interior is cozy and inviting and the A/c was going strong and we were thankful. The food was fantastic! I loved the fried chicken and black eyed peas. The banana pudding was a nice treat but I mostly had more Mac and cheese for dessert. They offered us to go drinks are were very friendly. I would go back anytime

Warm greeting, prompt service, friendly staff. Those 3 alone are worth 5 stars, not to mention how well the food was. Very affordable for a quick stop in but also nice enough to take the family. A very inviting restaurant from interior to exterior.

Pleasantly surprised with the Sunday Buffett. We were here for a baseball tournament and they accommodated rowdy boys and their cranky parents. Food was really good too- fried shrimp, hamburger steak, and the best collard greens I've ever had. Worth a stop if you are near.

The place was nice clean and felt comfortable. I like the old timey look and feel. The food was pretty good. The vegetable soup was very good, the ribs looked tender and juicy. The ribs were big enough that you are able to make two meals out of them which is great. However the cabbage was just a little bit too spicy. Yes I think I'll give them another try.

Good home cooking is something we can't get in Goldsboro on a Sunday or any evening for that matter. It's worth the drive to visit Rouse's. Staff was great and the food was really good as well. We had the buffet and there were so many good options. Very nice!! Will be back

Can we talk Repeated Good Food!! I've never been and had a bad experience. It's Always Hot and Fresh! The decor inside is just like the small county it resides in....Old Fashioned but just right. This is a buffet which included: Collards, Cabbage, Yams, Mac n Cheese, Fried Chicken, Shrimp, Fish, and Baked Chicken. Desserts: Good ol' Peach Cobbler and Banana Pudding and more to offer. We didn't have a wait...waitress was more than accommodating!! Also the lemonade / tea combo is a must try!! Thank You Rouse's for your continued great service and heart filled food.

Fantastic restaurant, superb service and delicious food just about sums up this restaurant. It's in "log home" type building. This I like because it gives a country feel to it. Menu items selection from buffet: Fried chicken, hamburger steak with brown gravy, green peas, corn, black eyed peas, dumplings and peach cobbler. Everything was delicious as I really enjoyed my meal. Customer service: I called them on phone to see if they were open on Sunday. They said yes they are open and I decided eat here. I was glad I did. I was talked into their buffet. I initially was going to just get a cheeseburger with fries and a coke. But they said that they only have the buffet on Sundays. Anyway, my waitress really took care of me while I was here. She kept my drink full at all times too. Missed Opportunities: They do have burgers which it looks great on their website. I will come back and get this another day. Features: They have an old antique tractor in here. They do have a TV in here. The TV had The Andy Griffith Show on. Local Stories: The waitress told me that Andy Griffith was a teacher at Goldsboro High School in Goldsboro, NC which is only 17 miles from here. She said he taught Music, English and Drama before he became a famous Actor. Now that is really a great accomplishment. Thus, they play The Andy Griffith Show on their TV.
